About the Author, Paullette Francoeur

Paullette Francoeur, author of Landed: Ocean, Lakes, and Laundry

I was born and raised in the Creston Valley. I have been married for thirty-three years, we have three children, and our adventures never end.

I completed my Early Childhood Education Certificate and Teacher’s Assistant Program with East Kootenay Community College, now College of the Rockies. Over the years, I have worked as a community support worker, administrative assistant, and employment counsellor. I directed commercial aeroplanes on the tarmac at Trail Regional Airport, worked with people experiencing homelessness on the streets in Victoria, cleaned the port of entry in Pleasant Camp BC, population 11, in the most northwestern region of British Columbia and worked at the Selkirk College in childcare programs.

I owned and operated an ecotourism business on Kootenay Lake called Bluebell Bay Kayak and Canoe. Years later, I had a business called Riverstone Yarns, where I dyed natural fibres with thirty-two different colour recipes. Recently, I have opened a mobile bookstore called Kootenay Authors.

Now I am back in Creston and have tackled a new journey, writing my first book, a family memoir called Landed – Oceans, Lakes and Laundry.

You can find me at Creston’s Farmers Market, Fall Fair and the Christmas Craft Fair with my mobile bookstore.
